This must have been in 2010 for an audition for the Tanglewood Music Festival which is a big deal in our small music world. My audition time was there and as I am walking in the door I get asked if I could sing the aria from the Tanzmeister since they are running out of time. I can recognise James Levine with his hair maybe 20 meters away... I said of course!
So, I never sung it in public and I have not staged it, ever... So I started to dance salsa as I was singing it.
I got accepted in Tanglewood. I did the small part of the officer in Ariadne Auf Naxos with the great Christoph von Dohnányi conducting and an terrific cast of young artists.
